Disaster Management Project (Class IX)

 Hello friends!

I have made a project report on Disaster Management as per CBSE curriculum 2021-22!

This projects mainly focuses on the natural disaster - Tropical Cyclone and its management.

In this project, I wrote about Disasters, Natural Disasters, Cyclone, latest cyclones, management of a disaster as a individual/organization and some other information.

I have attached the PDF and also a video of its beauty for your help, if you also got this homework, you can use it. There is no copyright.

Let's talk about project. Its on disaster management. There are 2 types of disasters- Manmade and Natural. 

Examples of Manmade disasters are Terrorist attack, bombing, fire in buildings, etc...

Examples of Natural disasters are flood, earthquake, Cyclones, Landslide etc...

Now, What is disaster management?

Disaster management refers to the conservation of lives and property during natural or human-made disasters. Disaster management plans are multi-layered and are planned to address issues such as floods, hurricanes, fires, mass failure of utilities, rapid spread of disease and droughts.

There are 4 steps of disaster Management:

-MITIGATION

-PREPAREDNESS

-RESPONSE and

-RECOVERY

 The “mitigation” phase occurs before a disaster takes place. Here, an organization will take steps to protect people and property, while also decreasing risks and consequences from a given disaster situation. The organization’s main goal is to reduce vulnerability to disaster impacts (such as property damage, injuries and loss of life.

 The “preparedness” phase also occurs before a disaster takes place. Here, an organization attempts to understand how a disaster might affect overall productivity and the bottom line. The organization will also provide appropriate education while putting preparedness measures into place.

 The “response” phase occurs in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Organizations must focus their attention on addressing immediate threats to people, property and business. Occupant safety and wellbeing largely depends on its preparedness levels before disaster strikes. As the response period progresses, focus will typically shift from immediate emergency issues to conducting repairs, restoring utilities, re-establishing operations and cleaning up. The organization will also need to begin planning the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.

 The “recovery” phase takes place after a disaster. This phase is the restoration of an organization following any impacts from a disaster. By this time, the organization has achieved at least some degree of physical, environmental, economic and social stability

The recovery phase of a disaster can last anywhere from six months to a year (or even longer depending on the severity of the incident).

Now lets move to our topic cyclone!🌊

cyclone is a large air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure, counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere as viewed from above. Cyclones are characterized by inward-spiraling winds that rotate about a zone of low pressure.

There are many types of cyclones, like thunderstorms, typhoons, hurricane, Tropical Cyclone, Polar Cyclone, Arctic cyclone, Mesotropical cyclone etc...

We have discussed about tropical cyclone in out project. We have tried to provide each and every information about cyclone in our this DISASTER MANAGEMENT PROJECT.
